Unlike what we saw during last season's lockout, the Suns will have a full preseason slate in 2012. Phoenix will open up training camp on Oct. 1 in beautiful La Jolla, California and then will have their first preseason contest on Oct. 10 against the Kings in Sacramento.

Here is what the full preseason schedule will look like, according to Suns beat writer Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic.

Oct.10 at Sacramento, Oct. 12 vs. Portland, Oct. 17 at Dallas, Oct. 19 vs. Oklahoma City (at Tulsa, Okla.), Oct. 22 vs. Sacramento, Oct. 23 at Golden State and Oct. 26 vs. Denver. ESPN will carry the preseason finale against Denver.

Obviously, this will be a big preseason for the Suns. With seven new guys who weren't on last year's roster, the wins and losses won't be important, but learning each other's games and learning to play with one another certainly will be during the seven-game stretch.

It is pretty interesting that Phoenix's preseason finale will be nationally televised. With no Steve Nash or Grant Hill and with a slew of newcomers on the roster, I thought the Suns would have been left off all together. Good to know that ESPN is still showing the Suns some love.
